2006 was a busy season for Whispering Pines. Our skippers Gareth, John and Jimmy proved very successful. The pollack fishing was disappointing, however, there was a noticeable improvement in the shark fishing with sharks being caught from early July until the end of August. Unfortunately the weather in September was disappointing. We had alot of wind throughout the month which made fishing conditions very difficult. On a more positive note we fished more wrecks this summer with some great results. We landed some nice specimen and we also caught ray in the harbour with some over 20lbs. The most species caught in one day this year was 19.  

Our smoking room with open log fire was a great success so much so that we will have to spend the winter chopping timber! We have also decided to extend the deadline for the fishing competition. Please send any quality photographs by email or post before the 31st January 2006. As you know, the prize is a voucher to the value of €500 so it is certainly worth the effort don’t you think!!

Finally we are exhibiting at the Visma in Rotterdam from the 29th March until the 1st April 2007.
